IWD 2016 - Event News
Toronto: Dancing Damsels Inc. (Team DD) has invited nominations for Women Achiever Awards 2016, which is the highest honour conferred by DD to women whose outstanding achievement has made a difference in our community. Successful women from the fields of Politics, Music, Community Leadership, Volunteering, Performing Arts, Science & Technology, Hospitality, Sports, Literature, Business, Media & Communication, and Healthcare are come under the purview of the award.
Any Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, who has worked for a minimum of 5 years and inspired others by their outstanding success in her chosen field of work can be nominated for this award. Nomination forms are available online at www.ddshows.com. All nominations must be completed online and submitted on or before January 31st, 2016.
Hon. Dipika Damerla MPP (Associate Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, responsible for Long-Term Care and Wellness) - Politics, Asha Vishwanath (President of Kannada Sangha Toronto) - Community Leadership, Brandy Leary (Founder Anandam Dancetheatre) - Arts & Cultural Integration, Thresia Thomas (Woman behind the success – through various Associations) – Community Service, Ramneek Singh (Indian Classical Vocalist) - Music, Ravinder Malhi (Founder of Toronto Aesthetics & Hair Academy - Business, Malarvilly Varatharajan (Provincial and Regional record holder in cross-country) - Sports, Puja Amin (Owner and Director of Sanskriti Arts in Toronto and President of Bollycore!) - Performing Arts, Dr. Arthy Saravanan (Mrs. India International 2014) – Volunteering, Angie Seth (On Air Reporter Global News Toronto ) – Media & Communication, Reena Deon (South Asian creative still Photographer, Photo Journalist) - Photography, Lata Menon (Barrister and Solicitor ) – Law and Mary David (the first woman in the Seiwa Kai (“Say Wa Keye”) GoJu Ryu Organization in Canada to earn her 5th Degree Black belt) -for the excellence in the Martial Arts - were the DD Women Achievers the previous year.
Dancing Damsels Inc, an incorporated non profit Dance Promotions Company for Women Empowerment is set ready to celebrate IWD 2016 with vivid programs.

This resplendent event will be held on Saturday March 5th, 2016 @ 5pm at the Glenforest Secondary School located at 3575 Fieldgate Drive, Mississauga ON L4X 2J6. There will be speeches by eminent international guest speakers; international entertainment programs; international food courts; and international stalls and exhibitions as part of this celebrations.
